Fujihachimanguu

Fujihachimanguu, enshrined in Tagawa, is a venerable Hachiman shrine with Emperor Ojin as its principal kami. As the name "Fuji" suggests, the kami has long been revered as one who calms the winds and protects people from natural disasters. For the people of Tagawa, which prospered through coal mining, this shrine became the spiritual foundation for prayers of safety and wishes for the wellbeing of their families. Through the divine virtue of Hachiman, known as the kami of victory, the shrine calms life's difficult winds and brings peaceful days.
