History

Saijo Inari is known as one of Japan's three great Inari shrines and is a leading sacred site representing Okayama! Its formal name is Saijo Inari Yama Myokyo-ji. It is said to have been founded by Hooon Daishi during the Nara period. It enshrines Saijo-i Kyoo-o Bosatsu and has been revered since ancient times as the 'deity of accommodation.'
