Miho Jinja

Miho Jinja is an ancient shrine recorded in the Izumo Fudoki, and it is the head shrine of all Ebisu shrines throughout Japan, enshrining Kotoshironushi no Kami (Ebisu). From its grounds facing the beautiful sea of Mihoseki, one can see spectacular views of Daisen and Oki Island. Since ancient times, it has been revered as the god of the sea and commerce, and has been deeply honored especially by fishermen and those in the maritime trade. Mihoseki is also a stage of mythology appearing in both the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, a sacred place where one can sense the presence of the gods.
