Taizan-ji

Taizan-ji is an ancient temple located in Koizumi, Imabari, known as one of the temples on the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temples pilgrimage route. As a temple associated with Kobo Daishi Kukai, it has carved out a long history. The name "Taizan" is derived from Mount Tai in China, a sacred mountain, and carries the meaning of wishing for peace and tranquility. Many pilgrims, particularly those on the Henro pilgrimage, visit this place to pray for peace of mind and the fulfillment of their wishes. Within the serene shrine grounds, one can forget the bustle of daily life and offer deep prayers.
