Tenjin Jinja

Tenjin Jinja in Kusanagi, Shimizu Ward, is a shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, revered as the god of scholarship. Enshrined in Kusanagi, it continues to watch over the academic success and advancement in the arts of the local community. Tenjin is also called 'Tenmangu' and is held in deep reverence throughout Japan. Particularly during examination season, many students and parents visit to pray for success in their exams, offering sincere wishes. As a spiritual foundation rooted in the community, it continues to be loved by people, unchanged to this day.
