History
Togo Jinja is a shrine dedicated to Admiral Togo Heihachiro, who was active in the Russo-Japanese War. Established to honor the achievements of this revered Meiji figure and to pass his spirit on to future generations. This location overlooking the sea of Fukutsu is a fitting place for Togo, also known as the father of the Japanese Navy. Many worshippers visit seeking the divine virtue of Togo, known for his strong will to victory and calm judgment.
