Kawamata Jinja

Kawamata Jinja is a shrine situated in Kawarawaya, Yoshino-cho. In this location surrounded by the beautiful flow of the Yoshino River and mountains, it has long been enshrined as the guardian deity of the region. As the name "Kawamata" suggests, this shrine stands at a junction of rivers or important waterside locations, where dwells a deity that presides over the blessings of water and mountains.
