Ichijoji
History
Ichijoji in Kasai is an ancient Tendai Buddhist temple said to have been founded by the sage Hodō. It is renowned for its National Treasure three-story pagoda, a precious cultural asset that conveys the elegant architectural beauty of the late Heian period to the present day. Located on the slopes of Hakuun Mountain, the temple grounds are rich in natural beauty, with the spring cherry blossoms and autumn foliage being particularly spectacular.
