Kendasuka Jinja

Kendasuka Jinja is an ancient and venerable shrine established in the Yuki area. It enshrines Susanoo no Mikoto and has been deeply revered by the local people as a deity of warding off calamity and dispelling plague. The name "Kenda" carries the wish for healthy rice fields—that is, abundant harvests—and the shrine is deeply respected as a guardian of agriculture. This shrine has long watched over the development of this land, which is famous for Yuki tsumugi silk, as a reliable protector.
