Taga Jinja

Taga Jinja is an ancient shrine enshrined in Taga-machi, Yahatanishi Ward, Kitakyushu. It enshrines the two deities Izanagi and Izanami, known as gods of longevity and long life, and has long been beloved by local people as "O-Taga-san." It has continued to watch over the history of Kitakyushu, which flourished as an industrial city alongside the development of the Yahata Steel Works. Particularly known for its benefits of health, longevity, and marital harmony, this shrine draws many visitors from afar.
