Muraya Imizu Tsuhime Jinja

Muraya Imizu Tsuhime Jinja is an ancient shrine listed in the Engi Shiki, enshrined in Tawaramoto Town. With Mizu Tsuhime no Kami as the principal deity, it has been revered since ancient times as the protective deity of water and agriculture. Positioned in the fertile land of the Yamato River water system, in this region where rice cultivation has flourished since ancient times, it has been deeply venerated as a deity bringing abundant harvests. The divine name "Miyomitsu" is said to mean "increasingly abundant," and this is truly a shrine imbued with the prayers of people wishing for abundance and prosperity.
