Takakamo Jinja

A premier shrine among premier shrines, this is the ancestral shrine of the Kamo clan, which has continued since ancient times. It is enshrined in Gojo, Nara, a historic land. The Kamo clan played an important role in the ancient imperial court. As the character 'Taka' indicates, this shrine has been revered since ancient times as a shrine of distinguished status. As the tutelary deity of the Kamo clan and as the chief shrine of the region, it has supported people's lives throughout its long history, truly a shrine of illustrious pedigree. Its dignified presence continues to move the hearts of worshippers even today.
