Tsuge Mizuwake Jinja

Mizuwake Jinja, quietly standing among the mountains of Tsuge, is an ancient shrine of proper lineage dedicated to the kami of water. Known as "Mikumari," it presides over water sources and has gathered the faith of people praying for abundant harvests of agricultural crops. Though situated in a mountainous location, this place blessed with clear water has long been cherished as a sacred site since ancient times. Particularly, it is said that those engaged in agriculture and ascetics seeking purification have visited frequently. Even today, one feels as though enveloped in its refreshing air, experiencing purification of body and mind.
