History
Kifune Jinja is a shrine enshrined in Moji Ward that enshrines the deity of water. It is said to have been invited from Kifune Shrine in Kyoto and has been revered since ancient times as the water deity. Moji is a port town that flourished facing the Kanmon Strait, and people engaged in maritime trade and fishing have visited to pray for safe voyages and abundant catches. As water is also the source of life, it is also known for blessings of romantic love and children. Like the flow of clear water, this shrine purifies people's wishes and grants them.
