Kume Jinja

Kume Jinja is enshrined in Kume Town, Kashihara City, and has deep connections to the ancient Kume clan. The Kume clan was an ancient and powerful family that undertook military affairs for the Yamato imperial court, known as a valiant lineage that followed Emperor Jinmu during the eastern expedition. This shrine enshrines the ancestor deity of the Kume clan and has transmitted the spirit of martial valor and loyalty alongside the clan's prosperity. Today it remains beloved as the local tutelary deity and is visited by many as a precious sacred site that tells the history connected to the Kume clan.
