Soonomiagataizimasu Jinja

Soonomiagataizimasu Jinja is an ancient shrine situated in Mimisuguri, Nara. This venerable shrine, read as "sou no mi agata ni imasu," possesses a long history spanning from the era of Heijo-kyo. The name "Soe" refers to Soekami District of Yamato Province, and "Miko Agata" means imperial directly controlled land. From ancient times, this shrine has maintained deep ties with the imperial court and served as the political and religious center of this region. As an important shrine protecting the northern part of Nara's capital, it has collected the faith of many people praying for the peace and prosperity of the region, making it a shrine of distinguished standing.
