Ojika Jinja

Ojika Jinja is enshrined in Usui-go in Ojika-cho, Kitamatsuura-gun, and is a beautiful shrine on an island. Ojika Island is located in the northern part of the Goto Islands and is also a historic island where maritime peoples have dwelled since ancient times. It has continuously served as the center of faith for the islanders, a precious place where gratitude is offered for the blessings of the sea and prayers are made for the island's peace. Like its beautiful place name, Usui, the wind and sounds of the sea resonate pleasantly through this sacred space surrounded by nature.
