Hisaizu Jinja

A shrine of Izumo tradition enshrined in the Iwatsuki area, bearing the auspicious name 'Kuizu,' said to be the origin of the word 'quiz.' During the Muromachi period, it received the veneration of Ota Dokan, the Iwatsuki castle lord, and during the Edo period, it prospered as the chief shrine of the Iwatsuki domain. Particularly famous for raising peacocks, whose beautifully displayed feathers bring comfort to visitors' hearts. Also known as the 'God of Quizzes,' it gathers the faith of test-takers and those seeking knowledge. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully, and this shrine continues to be loved by local people as a historic place that combines traditional charm with accessibility.
