History

A shrine of Izumo tradition enshrined in the Iwatsuki area, bearing the auspicious name 'Kuizu,' said to be the origin of the word 'quiz.' During the Muromachi period, it received the veneration of Ota Dokan, the Iwatsuki castle lord, and during the Edo period, it prospered as the chief shrine of the Iwatsuki domain.
