History
Jōdo-ji standing in the Jōtani area of Ono is an ancient temple founded in the late Heian period by the high priest Chōgen. Known for the restoration of Tōdai-ji, the high priest Chōgen built this as one of his branch temples in Harima Province, establishing it as a hub of Pure Land faith centered on Amida Buddha.
