History

Mashinota Jinja is the Ichinomiya of Owari Province and boasts an impressive history of 2,600 years! Enshrining Ame no Hoakari no Mikoto, it has long received devoted worship as the chief shrine protecting the Owari region. It is also famous as the deity of textiles, and the shrine is the origin of the place name Ichinomiya itself. The shrine grounds are spacious and solemn, with a magnificent gate tower and main hall that overwhelm visitors. Throughout the year, there are numerous festival rituals, with the April Cherry Blossom Festival and July Tanabata Festival being particularly crowded.
