Shimoyamaguchi Jinja

Shimoyamaguchi Jinja is enshrined at Shimota Nishi in Kashiba and serves as the guardian kami of the local community. This area has long prospered as a key junction connecting Yamato and Kawachi, where many travelers passed through. The shrine, positioned at the foot of the mountain, has served to protect the safety of travelers. As its name "Yamaguchi" suggests, it has continuously protected the entrance to the mountains and the exit from mountain to village, watching over the daily lives and travels of local people. Currently maintained carefully by local parishioners, it is an approachable shrine.
