History
Yoshitsune Jinja is a rare shrine throughout Japan that enshrines Minamoto Yoshitsune. Located in Biratori-cho, this shrine is said to have been founded based on legends of Yoshitsune crossing to Ezo from Mutsu and exchanging with the Ainu people. The spirit of Yoshitsune's courage, wisdom, and his appreciation for cultural exchange lives within this shrine. In the region, he is affectionately known as "Hangan-sama," and is known for his divine virtues of providing strength to face difficulties and fostering connections between people.
