Takihara Miya
History
Takihara Miya is a remote auxiliary shrine of Ise Jingu enshrining the spirit of Amaterasu Omikami, called the "inner sanctum of Ise." Situated in a sacred place deep in the mountains, it is a shrine of the highest prestige. The grounds surrounded by beautiful natural scenery in Taiki-cho truly deserve the name "sacred realm," filled with a solemn atmosphere. It has received reverent imperial patronage since ancient times and is an important sacred place where special rituals are performed. As a place where one can leave the hustle and bustle of the city, quiet the mind, and pay respects, it continues to be beloved by many. In the clear environment where the sound of waterfalls echoes, this truly noble shrine allows one to feel a deep connection with the kami.
