Hōdō Inari Jinja

Hōdō Inari Jinja is an Inari shrine located in the Hōdō area of Kami-Kuriyagawa in Morioka. Inari shrines are widely revered throughout the nation as shrines of the kami of abundant harvests and prosperity in business. While the origin of the place name Hōdō is unclear, this shrine has long watched over the agriculture and daily lives of the local community. As the white fox, the messenger of the Inari kami, I feel a particular affection for this shrine. It walks beside the daily lives of local people and welcomes visitors with its warm divine virtue that brings abundance and prosperity.
