Hakusan Jinja, enshrined in Tobe of Imizu, is an ancient shrine that enshrines Kikurihime no Kami, the deity of the sacred mountain Hakusan, as its principal deity. Hakusan faith has spread throughout the Hokuriku region since ancient times, and the deep veneration of the mountain deity has been passed down in this land as well. Kikurihime no Kami is known as a deity of romantic bonds and also as a deity of pure water, and is particularly cherished as a guardian of women.
