Okiku Inari Jinja

Okiku Inari Jinja is an Inari shrine with an unusual origin, established to console the spirit of Okiku, a tragic woman. During the Edo period, the vengeful spirit of a woman named Okiku, who lost her life due to a false accusation in this place, appeared and brought misfortune upon the people. To pacify her spirit, the shrine was founded. Initially a place for appeasing a vengeful spirit, with the passage of time, Okiku's resentment was transformed into enlightenment. Today she is revered as a guardian deity of women, gathering devoted faith. Particularly known as a shrine with remarkable spiritual benefits for fulfilling women's wishes, many women visit seeking benefits of matchmaking, safe childbirth, and beauty.
