History
Funabashi Daijingu, formally known as Oibe Jinja, is an ancient shrine of Shimosa with over a thousand years of history. Enshrining Amaterasu Okami as its principal kami, it is beloved as 'Funabashi's Daijingu-san.' It is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo also visited this shrine, and during the Edo period it received the patronage of the shogun's household—a shrine of distinguished rank.
