Imibe Jinja

Imibe Jinja is a shrine with ancient origins, enshrined in Niken'ya-cho, Tokushima City, and connected to the ancient Awa Imibe clan. The Imibe clan was an important family that oversaw imperial rituals, and has long been revered particularly as the ancestral deity of fiber industries such as hemp and cotton. With Ame no Tanejikao no Mikoto as the principal deity, it is worshipped as the deity who laid the foundation for the development and industrial prosperity of Awa province. Today, it remains a central shrine for protecting Tokushima's industries, with fiber workers and craftspeople visiting to pray for improved techniques and business prosperity.
