History

Hiroshima Prefecture Gokoku Jinja is a shrine enshrined within Hiroshima Castle ruins park, dedicated to the war dead from Hiroshima Prefecture. Since its founding in the Meiji period, it has been cherished as a sacred place imbued with wishes for regional development and peace. Though destroyed by the atomic bombing, it was reconstructed after the war and now serves as a spiritual support for the people of Hiroshima Prefecture.
