Nerima Ootori Jinja

Nerima Ootori Jinja is enshrined in Toyotama-kita, Nerima Ward, and enshrines Yamato Takeru no Mikoto. Known affectionately as "Otori-sama," it is particularly famous for the Tori no Ichi festival held in November. Continuing the tradition of the Tori no Ichi fair from the Edo period to the present day, it draws many worshippers each year. The grounds are filled with vitality as people seek rakes for good fortune, with voices wishing for prosperous business. Though situated quietly in a residential neighborhood, it is cherished as a source of spiritual support for the community and as an important place where the history of Nerima is told.
