History
Obi Jokamachi Hachiman Jinja is a shrine situated in the historic castle town of Obi in Nichinan, where samurai residences stand in rows. Since the era of the Itō clan of the Obi domain, it has been cherished as the guardian deity of the castle town. Hachiman is known as a god of war, and it is said that samurai of the Obi domain visited to pray for long-lasting military fortune.
