As the center of learning and culture in the Shonai region, this is a shrine of distinguished lineage that has been visited by many scholars and literary figures. During the Edo period, it developed alongside the Shonai Domain's policies promoting learning, and it is said that students of the domain school Chidokan also came to pray for academic success.
