Fuji Sengen Jinja

Fuji Sengen Jinja is an esteemed shrine located in Miyacho, Fujinomiya, and serves as the center of Mount Fuji faith. Formally known as Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, it stands as the head shrine of approximately 1,300 Sengen shrines throughout Japan. According to tradition, it was founded during the reign of Emperor Suinin and was established to calm the eruptions of Mount Fuji.
