Fukusenji

Fukusenji, located in Kohinata in Bunkyo Ward, is a Jodo sect temple founded during the Edo period. Though a small temple standing quietly in a residential area of Kohinata, it has been long cherished by the local community as their family temple. Since ancient Edo times, it has drawn the faith of common people, particularly being known as a place of prayer for child-rearing and family harmony. The temple grounds contain an impressive main hall, enshrining Amida Nyorai as the principal image. Even in modern times, it is carefully protected by the parishioners of the local community and serves an important role as a place for religious services and ancestral veneration. Though located in an urban area, it maintains a calm atmosphere—a temple that brings peace to the heart.
