Ryujin Jinja

Ryujin Jinja in Bihoro-cho is believed to have been established during the area's pioneer era, dedicated to the Dragon King, the deity of water. As can be understood from the place name Bikotori, water was an invaluable blessing for those engaged in agriculture and dairy farming in this land blessed with rich nature. The Dragon King has long been worshipped as a deity who calls forth rain and brings abundant harvests. Throughout their hardships in the harsh natural environment, pioneers continually prayed to the Dragon King for abundant crops and the safety of their families. Even today, the shrine remains loved by many people as the guardian deity of the region.
