Hakusan Nakoi Jinja

Hakusan Nakoi Jinja is situated in Iteteshiro, a deep mountain village in Shiratori-cho, Gujo, and serves as a sacred site of Hakusan faith. Since ancient times, it has played an important role as a departure point for pilgrimages to Mount Hakusan, where ascetic practitioners and pilgrims purify their body and spirit before ascending the mountain, making it a sacred place. This area, known as the Mino-ba (one of the three pilgrimage stations of Hakusan), flourished as a gathering place for many believers. Standing beside the clear waters of the Iteteshiro River and receiving the divine essence of Mount Hakusan, this shrine remains a special spiritual site where many people visit today seeking spiritual purification.
