History
Ibusuki Jinja is an ancient shrine situated in Higashigata, Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Connected to Yutoyosukune, whose name is the origin of the place name 'Ibusuki,' it has long been worshipped as a deity presiding over the blessings of hot springs. In this area famous for Ibusuki Hot Springs, it has been revered by many as the deity of therapeutic bathing and health prayers. Surrounded by the beautiful seas and mountains of the Satsuma Peninsula, Ibusuki Jinja continues to be cherished as both the guardian deity of the region and the deity of hot springs.
