History

Byakko

Hirose Shrine is located in Taketa City, Oita Prefecture, and was founded in 1935 during the Showa era. Despite its relatively recent establishment, it attained the rank of prefectural shrine under the old shrine classification system. Taketa once flourished as the castle town of the Oka domain, and this shrine has been venerated as a spiritual anchor for the local people. Worshippers gather to seek divine protection of the deities of water and agriculture, and prayers for bountiful harvests and household safety never cease. Carefully preserved by the local community, it continues to radiate quiet divine presence across the Taketa region.
