Hyotaniyama Inari Jinja is a most unusual shrine enshrined upon a mountain shaped like a gourd, true to its name! Called "Hyotaniyama" because of this distinctive topography, it has long been cherished by the people as a deity of commercial prosperity. This shrine dedicated to Inari Okami gathers the deep faith of merchants, and is known as one of the foremost Inari shrines in the Kansai region. The shrine grounds are lined with beautiful vermillion torii gates, creating a mystical atmosphere. With the auspicious nature of the gourd shape and the divine blessings of Inari, countless wishes have been granted at this shrine of remarkable spiritual efficacy.
