Manpukuji, formally known as Seiryuzan Manpukuji, is a temple of the Ji sect (Jishu) located in Masuda, Shimane Prefecture. The temple name meaning ten thousand blessings reflects its role as a place of spiritual comfort and virtue for the people of the Iwami region, which has flourished as a regional center since ancient times. The Ji sect, founded on the belief that salvation comes through nembutsu recitation alone, spread widely among common people. The temple grounds, adorned with aged structures and stone Buddhist statues, continue to serve as a cherished spiritual refuge deeply rooted in the local community.
