History

Byakko

As its name suggests, Ubataiji Jinja is known throughout the Kanto region as a shrine of authentic spiritual efficacy for safe childbirth. It enshrines Konohanasakuyahime no Mikoto, and has long been a sacred site where pregnant women and newly-married couples visit to pray for safe delivery and the blessing of children. Within the shrine grounds stands a stone statue of the "child-rearing dog," and visits on the Dog day of the zodiac are particularly common. Additionally, those blessed with children often return to offer their gratitude, and the voices of joy never cease at this warm and nurturing shrine.
