Rotengumi Jinja is affectionately known as "Ohatsutenjin" and is the sacred site of love in Osaka Kita. It became known nationwide as the stage of Chikamatsu Monzaemon's masterpiece "The Love Suicides at Sonezaki." As a shrine dedicated to matchmaking continuing from the Edo period, many couples and those wishing to marry come to pray. Though in an urban area, it is a special place where one can feel the strong spiritual power of romantic fulfillment.
