Tamura Jinja enshrined in Ichinomiya-cho, Takamatsu, is a distinguished shrine that has been beloved by the people of Sanuki since ancient times as the First Shrine of Sanuki Province. It enshrines Yamato Takeru no Mikoto and many other deities, and is affectionately known as 'Sanuki Ichinomiya-san.' The shrine grounds contain numerous subsidiary shrines said to provide benefits for various wishes and prayers. In particular, the Suijinja dedicated to the Dragon Deity is well-known, drawing many pilgrims due to the pure water that springs forth from the earth.
