Hachiman Asami Jinja

Hachiman Asami Jinja is a Hachiman shrine enshrined in the Asami district of Beppu. As a shrine of the Hachiman faith enshrining Emperor Ōjin, it has long been cherished by local people. While Hachiman is known as a martial deity, it is simultaneously revered as a deity of culture and education, and as a deity of industry. Located in Beppu, a hot spring resort, it is a sanctuary visited by many worshippers and tourists. As the tutelary deity of the region and a shrine to visit at important milestones in life, it has been continuously beloved.
