History

Byakko

Honored in Matsue's tea quarters, this deity embodies the sacred fire and iron of the craftsman's soul. Since time immemorial, artisans have sought blessing here, perfecting their metallurgical arts with flame and hammer. In the forge's heat they perceived divine truth; with each strike they offered their prayers. Thus the ancient bond between craftsman's spirit and deity's favor remains eternally unbroken.
