Shiratori-ji Tenmangu is a Tenman shrine located in Marunouchi, adjacent to Kanazawa Castle Park, enshrining Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning. Due to its central location in Kanazawa, it is well-loved as a tenmangu attracting many worshippers. True to its name, the beautiful Shiratori-ji promenade is famous for its cherry blossom lined paths, and in spring the shrine attracts many visitors who combine cherry blossom viewing with their prayers. Many visitors combine worship here with sightseeing at Kanazawa Castle and the Kenrokuen Garden. Despite its location amid tourist attractions, the shrine maintains a solemn atmosphere. During examination season, many ema plaques are hung in dedication, and the shrine stands as one of Kanazawa's sacred places of learning, gathering the sincere wishes of those seeking academic success.
