History
Taikodani Inari Jinja is enshrined on a hilltop in Tsuwano and is famous for its thousand vermillion torii gates. Enshrining Ukano Mitama no Kami as the deity, it is visited by worshippers from across the nation as a god of commercial prosperity. The sight of vermillion-painted torii gates lined up along the mountainside is spectacular, numbering over a thousand in total. The magnificent view overlooking the castle town of Tsuwano is wonderful, and this shrine offers the best of both worlds—the mystical power of Inari and beautiful scenery.
