Nunobiki Kannon is a hall dedicated to Kannon standing on a cliff overlooking the Chikuma River, also known as "Ushifuku-ji." True to its name, alongside beautiful falls that cascade like drawn cloth, the compassionate power of Kannon has brought salvation to countless people. According to tradition, it was founded in the Heian period and has been particularly revered by women as a Kannon devoted to childbearing and safe childbirth. The stage-style main hall standing on sheer cliffs is filled with a mystical atmosphere that evokes Kannon's Pure Land.
