Kojinyama Shrine stands on Mount Kojin in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, dedicated to the Kojin deity — the god of the hearth and kitchen fires. Enshrined on the mountain itself, it has long been venerated by the people of Omi province as a protector of the home and daily life. The deity is revered for warding off fire-related disasters and purifying domestic spaces. Known also as the Sanbo Kojin, the shrine emphasizes ritual purity and protection from impurity. Worshippers have gathered here for generations to pray for household safety and well-being.
