History

Ketai Taisha, enshrined at the base of the Noto Peninsula, is an ancient and venerable shrine long known as the "Shrine of Love." Its enshrined deity is Ōnamuchi no Mikoto, revered as the deity of matchmaking. From the Nara period onward, it received deep reverence from the imperial court, and was generously protected by successive Noto provincial governors and the Maeda clan. The shrine grounds are lined with sacred trees centuries old, and the sanctuary known as the "Forest of No Entry" continues to emanate a mystical atmosphere. The custom of monthly visits remains, making this shrine a true source of support for those seeking to fulfill their romantic wishes.
